THE BUTLER FAMILY

ON A LIFE VOYAGE

to share the power and love of Jesus Christ

Tyrel and Kenda Butler began ministering in Hawaii during their teenage years. They married in 2003 and eventually served as Pastor in Kaneohe, Hawaii; Tyrel also served as UPCI Hawaii District Youth President. Their children, Jayda, Texas, and Jubilee are a vital and active part of their ministry team. Their international ministry includes missions work in Mexico and Tonga, as well as leading two Apostolic Youth Corp trips.

In 2015, the Butlers felt the Lord solidify direction for them to embark on a voyage, to take the power and love of Jesus Christ, to the nation of Iceland. After relocating to Texas in 2018, they visited Iceland and God continued to confirm His plans for them. In 2019, they were appointed as AIMers to Iceland and Finland.

THE VOYAGE, PART ONE

The first phase of their family’s voyage will begin in the coastal city of Turku, in southwest Finland. With an arrival goal of summer 2021, the Butlers will plant a second congregation within the city and help harvest the 185,000 souls residing there. For about a year, they will grow accustomed to life in the Nordic region while being equipped for the next phase of their ministry voyage.

THE VOYAGE, PART TWO

The ultimate goal of the Butler’s voyage is to pioneer a network of churches and believers in the Land of Fire & Ice. Working hand-in-hand with the team that God assembles, and under the direction of Mark and Glenda Alphin, they desire to reach Iceland with the love and power of Jesus Christ.

They plan to base out of the capital city of Reykjavík, which is home to over 2/3 of the country’s population. Woven into the majestic tapestry of the nation’s natural splendor and iconic culture are souls that deserve to be connected to the God who created them, loves them, and desires to save them. The Butlers plan to use Bible studies, prayer walks, outreach, home groups, and church services to impact the harvest for the sake of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14)

We invite you to contact the Butler family for information and/or partner with them. Associates in Missions are responsible for raising their own giving partners and budget offerings and the Butler’s ongoing need is great. To enroll for giving on a monthly basis, you can click on the Partner in Missions form, print, and mail it to the UPCI at the given address. Thank you in advance for your consideration of support.

We began communicating with the Butlers shortly after the Lord began speaking to them about Iceland. In October 2018, we spent nearly a week with Tyrel and Kenda as they experienced the country for the very first time. We watched as their burden overflowed, and it was then that we knew our team would certainly expand. It is our goal to assist them in gaining additional knowledge about pioneering, and are looking forward to having them in Finland for a short time; then, we will cheer them on as their ministry advances to their field of calling – Iceland! We are excited to have them onboard! – Mark and Glenda Alphin, Global Representative

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Mark 16:15 (NKJV)

“He is no fool who gives up what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”
