Seljalandsfoss, Iceland

Seljalandsfoss, Iceland In September 2018, we took our first very trip around the Ring Road that encircles Iceland. We were amazed at all of the natural treasures that were located literally on the side of the road! When we heard about this particular waterfall, and that we could walk behind [...]

Upon the Master’s Knee

(Originally published January 9, 2012)   This morning during prayer, The Master called to me. He said, “Daughter, you’re hurting; Come and sit upon My knee.”   “I’ll wipe your tears, I’ll dry your face, I’ll hug you close and tight. And when it comes time for you to sleep, [...]

Self-Talk

(Originally published on March 21, 2012) What are you listening to? Is it helping, or hurting, you? Recently, John Maxwell’s “Minute with Maxwell” featured “Self-Talk,” and his description caused me to pause and think about the spiritual aspect of what he was describing.  His point was that the most important [...]

Things I Learned from My Dad

(Originally published on May 3, 2014) Benjamin Franklin once said, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”  I am happy to say that my world included significantly more certainty than that. My parent’s actions were always certain. I always knew how they [...]

God’s Thoughts Towards Us

(Originally published on June 19, 2012) I don't have a lot of flowery things to say right now and honestly, I've had so little sleep that my thoughts are barely cohesive. But, I just can't get away from the following scriptures. Somewhere out there, someone needs to be reminded that [...]

Things I Learned from My Mom

(Originally published on January 20, 2012) The past couple of weeks have been some of the most difficult in my life. My mother, a woman I both loved and admired, passed from this world on January 6, 2012. To most, she was the little lady with the ready, warm smile. [...]

R.I.P., Mom Alphin

(Originally published on January 7, 2012, following the death of Mark's mother on January 6, the day that many recognize as Epiphany.) Our daughter told me, "You won't be able to sleep if you drink that." Well, she was right. The espresso took away any potentiality of sleep for [...]

How to Speak in Tongues

(Originally published on June 10, 2012) Reblogged with permission from http://jonathanjordan.squarespace.com/. Okay, the title is a little misleading.  I’m not really going to tell you how to speak in tongues, at least not how to form the syllables and sentences of glossalalia.  That would be fraudulent because tongues-speaking is meant to be miraculous.  [...]

Hamstrung?

(Originally published on November 30, 2011)   Joshua 11:6 "But the Lord said to Joshua, Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow by this time I will give them up all slain to Israel; you shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire." (AMP) The above [...]
